What is duricef and what is cefadroxil?
Duricef drug is a brand of prescription medication which is in the group of cephalosporin antibiotics. It also has generic version with name Cefadroxil monohydrate. Duricef or generic duricef helps in treating nasal, throat, urinary track as well as skin infections. Strep, E Coli etc. are some specific kinds of bacteria which are killed by using duricef dosage.
Important Information about duricef antibiotic
If you are allergic to the medications that fall in this group of antibiotics then you should avoid taking it. But when there is an emergency and you have to take it then consult your doctor first before taking duricef. If by any chance you have taken the drug and faced some sort of reaction then call for doctor’s attention.
This is a prescription medication and should be bought only with doctor’s prescription.
It is important to note that this is an antibiotic and it does not treat flu as caused by viral infections.

You can take cefadroxil for your problem with or without food.
If you are using capsules then you should store them at normal room temperature.
If you are using liquid suspension cefadroxil then in that case, you should shake the bottle well while using and store it in cool place like refrigerator.
If you miss the dosage of cefadroxil 500 then go through the leaflet of the medication to get access to the instructions. You may even talk to your doctor about this.

If you are planning to take branded duracef or generic one, you should be aware of cefadroxil side effects. Skin rashes, itching, redness, abdominal discomfort, nausea etc. are some of the side effects of cefadroxil and duricef. If apart from these common side effects if you notice something uncommon then you should consult your doctor immediately.

Studies are still going on in the area to find out the drug interactions of duricef with other drugs. Till now, nothing has been proved clinically in this regards.
